From the Farm

The Swaelkloof Journal

How the vintage is going, why the 1978 Chenin block is still farmed by hand, and what is happening in the 1898 cellar. Written by Anele and Johan between rows.

Most of It Starts in the Vineyard

Cover crops, no herbicides and a flock of ducks for the snails, on 22 hectares between 280 and 420 metres. When the swallows come back to the eaves of the old cellar, we know the year has turned.
